Tokyo Motorshow 2007: Nissan GT-R Unveiled Finally!

Japan fights back with the GT-R.

The undisputed star of this year's Tokyo Motorshow is Nissan's long awaited GT-R. Unveiled 6 long years ago as the GT-R concept, the GT-R is Japan's answer to the formidable 911 Turbo.

The GT-R's twin turbo DOHC V6 offers a meaty 473hp, powering the car from standstill to 60mph in a claimed 3.5 seconds and onwards to a top speed of *gasp* 193mph. This all means that it laps the fearsome Nürburgring in an astonishing time of 7:38, making it faster than a Veyron and almost as quick as the Carrera GT, Porsche's hypercar.

Skyline-ish brake lights and 4 exhausts? I approve!

The GT-R is also not a bad looking car. I suppose some would consider it handsome even, but I personally think it's a bit uninspired. It looks much too similar to the 350Z. However, I do like the brake lights which pay homage to the Skylines of old.

I only wonder how long it'll take before we see it on Singapore roads.

Woo....*drools*

The car looks georgeous, but you're right about the design, not very original. It's like 350Z + Skyline + Lancer-ex.

Roys!

Wow, it's beautiful. Now to find a high-resolution wallpaper for it :)

@dinu: Yeah, but still a good looking nonetheless.

@roys!: Maybe you can check out the GT-R site here.
